WHY A PEDIATRIC DENTIST?
A pediatric Dentist is the specialist who is dedicated to the oral health of children from infancy through the teenage years. The pediatric dentist completes a minimum of two extra years of intensive training at a children's hospital or at a university dental school. Pediatric dentists are trained to handle the emotional, physical and mental needs of the routine and special needs patient. Our office stresses prevention, not only in minimizing dental caries (decay), but also in interceptive orthodontics to prevent or lessen the severity of braces later on in life.
The pediatric dentist is also additionally trained in the care and treatment of dental injuries such as broken teeth or knocked out teeth. We work closely with our orthodontist in our office to give total care to your child. We also consult with your pediatrician as well as other dental and medical specialists as the need arises.
